Passengers affected by Hurricane Sandy and booking Southwest Airlines flights tickets will be allowed to use vouchers within 14 days from the date of cancellation. Earlier, the passengers were allowed to use vouchers from canceled flights up to a year.
A number of Southwest Airlines flights were canceled due to disastrous Hurricane Sandy, which wreaked havoc across the United States on October 29.
The hurricane forced thousands of flights to be grounded leaving a huge number of travelers stranded from the East Coast to Los Angeles and threatening to cause disruption in flight services through the week.
Other U.S. carriers are however providing even a much shortened time for passengers to use their vouchers. United Airlines, as well as American Airlines, are offering their passengers to begin a trip with those vouchers until November 7, whose flights stood cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.
Media reports said that some U.S. carriers might even consider adding extra flights for accommodating the huge demand in reservations once the storm passes and passengers try to rebook their tickets.
